Fire Sprinkler System Success: Black & Veatch Headquarters
On Monday, February 18th , 2019, a fire broke out at the Black & Veatch headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas in the early hours around 8:00 am. The building was evacuated without any injuries being sustained. The fire occurred on the first floor of the building and was likely related to an electrical panel (though the exact cause of the fire is still yet to be determined). Upon arrival, firefighters and their crew found that the building’s fire sprinkler system had contained the fire from spreading until the firefighters were able to extinguish completely and address the electrical panel.
Jayhawk Fire Sprinkler was selected as the fire sprinkler contractor to design and install the fire sprinkler system at Black & Veatch back in 2015.
We are extremely thankful that no one was injured in this fire and it is a testament to why we go to work each day. Our team is dedicated to make sure we are doing the absolute best we can to ensure that the fire sprinkler systems that we design, install, inspect, and service are going to function as they are designed to do, as they did in this instance.
